Buy the Brother MFC-T930W if the office needs print, scan, copy, and fax with an ADF, automatic duplex, and wireless networking. Buy the Brother DCP-T230 if you only need USB print, scan, and copy and want to keep about $150.
The deciding gap is workflow, not print resolution. The MFC-T930W is the office multifunction: fax, an ADF for multi-page stacks, duplex without flipping pages by hand, and Wi-Fi on the 2.4GHz band shown in this page’s spec table. The DCP-T230 is the smaller tank printer: Print / Scan / Copy only, over USB 2.0. Missing Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and Wi-Fi Direct on the DCP-T230 are unsupported features in Brother’s official specs, not empty cells waiting to be filled.
The MFC-T930W is worth the extra money when people share the printer, scan or copy document stacks, or still need fax. EvoLink currently lists $265 versus $115 for the DCP-T230 — about $150. Those are the prices shown in the store now and can change with stock and store updates.
The DCP-T230 is enough for a single PC beside the desk, with no fax and no ADF. The wireless recommendation on this page is only that the MFC-T930W has Wi-Fi; it is the 2.4GHz band from the table. Do not assume 5GHz for the Middle East unit sold here.
Included Color Ink Yield: 5000, Ink System: Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Ink Technology: Dye Ink, Paper Size: A4, Print Colors: 4
Choose the MFC-T930W for an office that needs fax, an ADF, duplex, or printing from more than one device over Wi-Fi. Choose the DCP-T230 if one computer will print, scan, and copy over USB and you want the lower price currently listed on EvoLink ($115 versus $265).
Based on current prices, DCP-T230 Ink Tank Printer is the cheaper option. It costs 115 USD versus 265 USD for MFC-T930W Ink Tank Printer. The price difference is 150 USD, about 56.6% less. Prices are live and subject to change.
Yes if you will regularly use the ADF, automatic duplex, fax, or wireless sharing. Those jobs justify the gap, not print resolution. If the printer stays next to one PC with no fax and no document stacks, buy the DCP-T230.
No. Brother specifies USB 2.0 only for the DCP-T230. Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and Wi-Fi Direct are unsupported on this model, not missing values.
This comparison table lists 2.4GHz for the MFC-T930W. Do not assume 5GHz unless that band is confirmed for the unit sold in your region.
The ADF lets you load a stack for scan or copy instead of placing each sheet on the glass. The DCP-T230 is flatbed-only, so it is one page at a time. Duplex on the MFC-T930W prints both sides automatically and is separate from the ADF.
If sending or receiving fax is still part of the job, buy the MFC-T930W (Print / Scan / Copy / Fax). The DCP-T230 has no fax; that is a model limit, not a blank spec.
