The real split is the paper path, not the print-head brand: Epson EcoTank L3350 is a compact A4 3-in-1 (4.1 kg, 361×317×162 mm) that prints, copies and scans from the flatbed over USB, Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct at ISO 11/6 ipm. Brother DCP-T830DW is heavier (9.6 kg) and adds a 20-sheet ADF, automatic duplex, Ethernet plus 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, a 150-sheet tray and an 80-sheet multipurpose tray.
Choose the L3350 for a small home desk, 10×15 cm borderless photos, and occasional glass scans. Boxed colour yield is higher (6,500 vs 5,000); boxed black is lower (8,300 vs a first-fill 15,000 from two BTD100 bottles). It is in stock at $145.
Choose the DCP-T830DW if the office feeds contracts or invoices without placing every sheet on glass, prints two-sided daily, or needs a wired link to the router. ISO 17/16.5 and a faster first page (6 / 6.5 s) are the documented gains. Print resolution up to 1,200×6,000 dpi is not Windows-only on this ASE model. It is out of stock at $235.
The extra ~$90 pays for ADF, duplex, Ethernet, capacity and speed — not a higher dpi number. Replacement BTD100 is about 7,500 black / 5,000 per colour; Epson 103 black replacement is about 4,700. The 19,200 scan figure is interpolated, not optical.
For a home or small desk without batch documents: buy the in-stock L3350. For wired-network batch work: wait for the T830.
What differs?
Material differences (most important first)
- Document path: Flatbed CIS vs flatbed with 20-sheet ADF
- Duplex printing: Manual vs automatic (plain/recycled; A4, Letter, A5, Executive per ASE)
- Connectivity: USB, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct vs USB, Ethernet, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct
- Size and weight: 4.1 kg, 361×317×162 mm vs 9.6 kg, 435×418×180 mm
- ISO speed: 11/6 vs 17/16.5 ipm
- Paper capacity: 100-sheet tray vs 150 + 80-sheet MP tray
- Boxed ink: 8,300 black / 6,500 colour vs first-fill 15,000 black / 5,000 colour
- Replacement bottles: Epson 103 black ~4,700 vs BTD100 ~7,500 black / 5,000 per colour
Figures that do not settle the buy alone
- Max print resolution: 5,760×1,440 vs 1,200×6,000 (not Windows-only on this T830 ASE spec)
- Max scan resolution: 1,200×2,400 optical vs 19,200×19,200 interpolated (optical glass 1,200×2,400)
- Scanner colour depth: 48-bit in / 24-bit out vs 30-bit in / 24-bit out
- Scanner grayscale: 16-bit in / 8-bit out vs 10-bit in / 8-bit out
Similarities
Print, scan and copy up to A4; 4-colour dye ink; Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct. Ethernet is documented No on the L3350 and Yes on the T830.
Frequently asked questions
The L3350 fits light A4 work and 10×15 cm photos on a small 4.1 kg unit. The T830 fits batch scan/copy through a 20-sheet ADF, automatic duplex, or a wired Ethernet drop. Both are print/scan/copy A4 ink tanks; choose by paper path, not a marketing printer category.
Based on current prices, EcoTank L3350 Printer is the cheaper option. It costs 145 USD versus 235 USD for DCP-T830DW Ink Tank Printer. The price difference is 90 USD, about 38.3% less. Prices are live and subject to change.
The L3350 scanner in the table is a flatbed CIS — one sheet on the glass. The T830 is a flatbed with a 20-sheet ADF (about 17/7 ipm simplex). If daily copying is multi-page contracts, that is the decisive gap.
T830 first-fill is about 15,000 black and 5,000 colour because two black bottles ship in the box. Replacement BTD100 is about 7,500 black and 5,000 per colour. The L3350 boxes about 8,300 black / 6,500 colour; Epson 103 black replacement is about 4,700. Do not treat the starter set as the ongoing page cost.
No. T830 19,200×19,200 is interpolated; optical glass scan is 1,200×2,400, same order as the L3350. T830 print resolution up to 1,200×6,000 dpi is not Windows-only on this ASE model; the L3350 lists 5,760×1,440. Decide on duplex, ADF and speed.
This shop listing shows 2.4 GHz and IEEE 802.11b/g/n for the T830. Do not assume 5 GHz. The L3350 has Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct without Ethernet; the T830 adds a wired Ethernet port.
The extra ~$90 is worth it only if you will use the ADF, automatic duplex, Ethernet or the higher ISO 17/16.5 speeds. For home printing without stacks, the cheaper in-stock L3350 covers print, copy and scan. The T830 price does not mean it can ship today.
The L3350 is purchasable (stock 8). The DCP-T830DW is not (stock 0); the «غير متوفر» badge is correct. If you need ADF, duplex and Ethernet, wait for the T830 or another similar unit — do not buy the L3350 expecting the same office workflow.
